What Is Halo Top Keto Ice Cream?
To be quite clear, Halo Top does not officially market itself as a keto-friendly ice-cream, but that said it is actually very low carb.

Their assorted flavors are also higher in protein than average ice cream brands, and even have dairy free versions for sale if you have lactose intolerance/allergies.
Calories and Sugar In Halo Top Keto Ice Cream
Per pint of the ice cream you can expect to incur between 280-360 calories. This is extremely reasonable compared to the 500 calorie plus behemoths that are considered the norm.
In terms of the sugar it contains, much of it comprises of organic stevia and erythritol, which are low calorie alternatives to table sugar. They also possess a low glycemic index and will not spike blood glucose nearly as much as glucose would.
The combination of natural sugars offers amazing sweetness but without the immense calorie load. A pint of the chocolate, for instance, yields 40g carbohydrates, much less than standard ice cream.
The exact amount of carbohydrates also differs between flavors, so be sure to read labels before committing to any one.

So would I say Halo Top ice cream is keto? It depends. It is not sugar free, but compared to many other options it is a far better choice. Moderation also remains king here.
If you can suffice on half of a pint, then by all means, you probably won’t break the keto bank. If, however, ice cream is your kryptonite, then don’t risk it.
There are also a few “special” groups that may get away with a little more indulgence room. If you follow the targeted (TKD) or cyclical (CKD) keto diet styles, you can likely (don’t call me to the stand) have more.
This is because these two variants of the keto diet allow a larger amount of carb intake, prior/ after workouts or on carb restocking days respectively.
